converting movie fails (HELP! I need somebody!)

Yeah Yeah, that was a beatles reference. More to the point: itunes.

I need help on itunes where I upload a .mov file on there and when I try to convert it on itunes with "create ipod or iphone version" and then it comes up with "[file name] could not be converted because this file does not allow saving or conversion." and so it stops me and I'm unable to get it on my ipod. Help? Please be very specific?

Where did you get the movie file? It sounds like it is protected with some form of DRM. Or it's not a supported format.

Handbrake should be able to convert pretty much any format of movie to an iPod compatible format.
