Default Folder X (http://www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolderX/release.html) is finally available. Adds many options to the File Open or Save dialogue, as explained on the web page.
If you download the file, be sure to check the credits in the "About" section of the settings. Recognize any familiar names? :)
--share your experience using this program and add any others you know of which enhance Open-Save dialogue options.

Note that this currently only supports Carbon apps. Cocoa support is promised for a future release.

Oh yeah!!! Saying "Default Folder is finally available for MacOS X" is sort of like saying oxygen is now available for those who prefer to breathe.
I don't have to cringe every time I go Command-O or Command-S!

Right. Otoh, the Open/Save dialogues in X did provide more options than in OS 9, which isn't saying much. We're still catching up to Windows even with Default Folder.

I couldn't have said it better myself. :)
