When I print to a USB printer, the status in Printcenter will display "Stopped". I can click the Start Jobs icon, but it will immediatley stop again. I have removed the printer and tried to add it back. Now I get an "Error -1" when trying to add the printer in Printcenter. I am using an Epson 777i. I have also reinstalled the Epson printer drivers from the 10.2 cd with no luck. I have replaced my usb cable. When I go to add the printer in Printcenter, I can see the printer on the USB bus. I can also open the Epson Printer Utility where I can do printhead cleanings and so on, but cannot add the printer to Printcenter.

I use the Epson Photo 750 (USB), I could never get it to work under OS X at all, so I was directed to the Gimp driver. Since installing Gimp I work pretty well. Just a thought if you're up for more experimenting. Seems that Gimp is the way to go for printer drivers based upon the myriad scuttlebut I've run into.
I also think I saw on the apple knowledgebase site that there were some espon printer driver updates or something, but by the time I noticed them i was no longer interested.

I had a problem similar to this, and I found the following worked (for me):
- Remove the printer from the Print Center list.
- Insert second disc of the OS X 10.2 installer discs.
- Install the printer drivers for the printer from the .pkg files on that disc.
- Add the printer to the Print Center list.
- Try printing again.
Worked for me, but it might not fix your problem if your printer driver isn't on the second install disc. Turned out my printer driver had either been deleted or had become corrupt somehow. Just a thought.

Thanks Darkpaw!
When trying to get my Epson 2000p to work on 10.2.4, I somehow messed up my Epson C80, which worked previously. The reinstallation worked for me to get the C80 back up and running. Now I need to figure out how to get the 2000p working.

I had the same problem, but unplugging the HP Deskjet and plugging it back it seemed to work fine.
Also turning it on and off worked as well. Very odd.

Some weird printer issues can be caused by incorrect disk permissions. try running the Permission repair from Disk Utility.
