I recently noticed that my modem seems to be over active. I am running a G4 with the 350 MHZ processor and the internal 56k modem with system 10.1.2
Whenever I click on one of the system preferences or one of the files found in the utilities folder inside the applications folder the program does not start until the modem dials out. Where it is going is unknown. There is no window that opens to show a connection to anywhere.
Has anyone else had this kind of experience? I'm still rather new to OS X but it seems like this is a lot more modem activity than should be happening.
I did check my modem preferences to insure that the check box for having any TCP type program activite the modem was disabled.
If this sounds like it might be a damaged modem file, how do I delete the damaged file and replace it with a fresh one?
Thanks to anyone who can help.
