Every time I return the Mac OSX Hints page it remembers who I am but the Forums do not. I have to log in to post each time the browser (IE) is quit. Is there a cookie I need to trash or is everyone having this problem? Other forum sites remember me so most of my cookies are working.

I'm having the same problem, and only with this forum. ebay, the osxhints page, macaddict, and apple's knowledgebase all remember me. Quitting doens't kill my cookie though. it's logging out that does.

You are correct saint.duo that logging out causes the cookie memory problem, not just quitting.

I believe that logging out clears the cookies - by design, unfortunately. I just don't log out. I'm looking into it on the vBulletin boards to see if anyone's come up with a workaround...

this kind of thing happened to me when, oh, i don't know, something happened.

i logged out of forums.macosxhints.com, closed the all browser windows, deleted all cookies of 'forums.macosxhints.com', quit IE, and started from scratch.

all better.

Just to make sure you understand what I meant - logging out (or shutting down) of OS X causes the problem. I don't log out of the forums but understand that would cause the same behavior.

By the way, the cookies are maintained fine from my OS 9 Macs!

I just logged out of X and back in and the Forums remember me now!
