WindowShade X (http://www.unsanity.com/haxies.php) brings the familiar window-collapsing effect from MacOS 9 into MacOS X, and more. Stacked with 3 different shade styles, it gives you the freedom to manage your workspace environment exactly how you want it. Shareware.

Well, if you're happy with just collapsing the finder windows, don't have money for WindowShade X, and you have the December Developer Tools installed, there is also:

Simpleshade 1.2 (with Smartshade)

Not the same, but is freeware.

Of course, WindowShade X can do more and works in any app.

Cheers...

I purchased and installed WindowShade X version 1.5.1

When i go to select it in my system preference i get a kernel panic.

So i removed it.

My Configuration:
Power Macintosh Beige G3
256 MB RAM
OS X 10.1.2
