does the ipod 1.3 updater put "On-The-Go playlists" and the new games onto the older ipods or is this just for the newest models? i realize that for the most part the 1.3 update is for ACC support purposes. i updated my 5GB ipod and i have no "On-The-Go playlists" like is mentioned in the webcast or the new games. are these things formatable? can i wipe it clean and put the newest system software on it again? i know all will be lost but i don't care because it is all on the mac. thanks.

Yes, you can clear it and reset it back to the factory defaults. You should have an iPod Software Updater in your Applications or Utilities folder. It has an option to restore.
I don't believe the 1.3 software includes these games, but I may be wrong (it has happened ;) ).
Check with Apple's support forums.

restore still keeps the 1.3 software on it. shouldn't it be set back to an older software number? i thought i would have to re-update to 1.3

seems from the Apple Support forums we old iPod owners are out of luck... at least for now.
