I, and my co-workers have encountered serious redraw problems running flash in Classic mode in OS X. It is so bad that the program is essentially unuseable when run in classic.
When trying to move items around on the stage, you can literally watch the redraw process as you are dragging the item. The redraw rate absolutely terrible. I estimate that, when moving graphics on the stage, the screen redraws at a rate of about 1 to 2 frames a second. same with when you are dragging the marker on the timeline. sweep... sweep...
Other classic apps, including Macromedia Director run fine. I have tried it while running classic with a stripped down optimised set of extension, as well as with my regulay settings. No Difference.
I am running a G4 400 with 768 MB of ram, 200 of which is allocated to Flash, Dual 17" Monitors running on ATI Rage cards, and the most current versions of the operating system and Flash 5.0a. I have also tried running with just a single monitor. Still no difference.
Is there anything I can do to make Flash run better in Classic? Right now I am forced to run flash in os9, which does not allow me to do anything else I need to do in osX.
Help Please.
Thanks.
