I never used either of these much in OS 9, but I know they've been missed by many.
--------------
Snax (http://www.cocoatech.com/) has been referred to in several threads, but is mentioned here as an alternative Finder with labels, spring-loaded folders, and most of the features of the OS X Finder, including column view option, preview (optional!), and configurable toolbar. You can download a fully functional version and see what this Cocoa app can do.
I've gone ahead and paid for this one and now have it booting up at log-in. It's still a little sluggish when first scrolling through folders with lots of files, but loosens up nicely afterwards.
-------------
Coela (http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~iimori/) is also an alternative Finder with Column view, labels, and a top menu similar to OS 9. It's actually very snappy with some really nice features, but no preview option and no configurable toolbar. It's still in Beta.
Don't be put off by the blue theme on the web page, nor by the Japanese. The app is in English and you don't have to use the blue.
