Does anyone know what an OS 9 system error 127 is? For some reason, after my sister installed the driver for her Brother MFC All-In-One so she could scan, OS 9 will get all the way to the desktop and then freeze. It will show a "System Error 127" message and ask you to restart, but when you click on it, it won't work. I've tried holding the shift key down, doesn't work. I've tried holding the space bar down and disabling different extensions, still doesn't work. So I've told her not to boot into 9, just stay in X. But she wants to scan images, so how do I fix this little problem?
What's weird is that she could scan fine for a couple of times, but then it freaked out on her.

I had a similar problem using Omnipage Pro X to scan via Classic. It worked, then stopped, then crashed Classic, which wouldn't reboot. I had to reboot OS X and then things worked well and I've not had a problem since.
You don't mention rebooting OS X. Did you try that?

I don't mention rebooting X because she wasn't in X at the time. She kept rebooting into 9 to use the scanning software and AIM. I told her she didn't have to boot into 9, but she obviously didn't hear me or didn't understand what I meant.
To get the computer back up and running, I booted off the 9 CD, and selected X as the default system. 9 will not completely load anymore. I'm thinking about just reinstalling 9.1.

Sorry, it didn't click that you were asking about troubleshooting an OS 9 problem. I assumed you meant Classic. Kind of had my troubleshooting X blinders on. ;)
OS 9.1 won't work with X, if you're planning on using it as Classic. Just fyi.
