I have an iBook (dual usb) and the battery latch broke. Is there a way I can change it myself? How do you open the bottom? I removed all the screws (2 in the battery tray, 3 on the outside bottow). I sure hate to have to send it to Appl...
Help!!!

You can download the service manual for your iBook at: http://home.wanadoo.nl/manual.man/manuals.html
You also can see photos showing removal of the base by someone who did this when replacing the hard drive: http://uk.geocities.com/ibookupgrade/
But I wouldn't bother doing anything so risky - just use duct tape!

Good luck ordering the parts. Apple is very strict about who can order parts for laptops. You will need to have someone with their apple laptop cert to be able to order it. Otherwise try third party sources such as www.preowned.com, ebay or of the like. As far as it being difficult to fix. Nope I have done a few, and I would say it took me about 10 minuets to do, and thats only because I was being extra careful since it was one of the bosses laptops.
