I propose to create a new topic "Mutimedia" whereby all discussions on audio-vidieo applications can be posted.

A new forum, you mean?

I'm not sure how well that would go, as such a topic would include issues pertaining to system, applications, hardware and peripherals, all of which already have their own forums.

Also, if we get into specialized forums,, there could be no end to them and they would all suffer the same overlap mentioned above.

I'm for an A/V forum because in reality, pro audio and video markets are what keep Mac on top. It's the ONE market where Mac is the standard (graphic design included). This being the case, it would make sense to have a dedicated forum.

If there was a "multimedia/AV" section, designers would want a "design section" and photogs might want a "digital imaging" section...there's too much overlap in these three areas to warrant their addition.

Also, the solution to one user's mulitmedia problem might help someone who might not venture into such a narrowly defined forum section.

The current setup works fine, IMO.
