hello all,

i just got the iSight camera and after playing with it, i noticed that the signs that behind me are showing up backwards on the iSight camera broadcast.

it's as if i'm looking at myself and the signs behind me in the mirror. know what i mean?

i hope this isnt a stupid question, but is this how iSight is supposed to work?

before iSight, I had my sony digital video camera hooked up to my powerbook and i never had this problem.

any news on this?

It's a feature. All looks normal to the other guy.

My iBot actually does the same thing, so it's not just the iSight. It has to do with the way iChat AV handles the video stream. It will look correct to the person on the other end.

it's a feature! when looking at yourself, in preening mode, it should look like a mirror. or else you'd get everything bass-ackward.

It makes perfect sense: if you needed to move the camera to the right and iSight did NOT act like a mirror, the image would appear to go the "wrong" way much like viewing an image in the waist-level finder of my old Rolleiflex camera.
