Trying to share my adsl line between a G4/400 and a pismo PB with airport cards. I have followed the instructions for setting up an airport software base station posted at http://willclarkson.com.

I get as far as to establish the airport computer-to computer and pinging between them both ways. However, the SW base station appears not to get any DNS when connecting to my ISP. This seems to happen as soon as I configure the IP-address of its airport card manually. Then when I erase the manual IP from the airport settings on the SW base station ppoe works fine again (for the G4 connected to the adsl modem).

Can anyone help?/Ulf

ulfj:
I am sorry to hear that my instructions have not helped you to enable Software Base Station in OS X.

Possible Solutions:

1. Are you using an ADSL modem with a USB connection? If so, then I have heard from some people who are in the same boat as you. Try experimenting with the "Deny Incoming Requests" checkbox in gNAT, and one person even left "Dynamic IP Binding" checkbox open.

This may help to ease the trouble you have experienced. You have won most of the battle because your computers can communicate with pings. Now all you have to do is find out what settings work for you in gNAT. If you get it working, please e-mail me at Wclarkson@mac.com (mailto:wclarkson@mac.com).

Good Luck!!!
