Change color of menubar clock

Some theme I tried out with MetamorphX (not sure which one; could've been DSX, Xenographics, BeOS or NeXT) changed the color of my clock on the menubar to white. I wanna change it back.

I've used several 'restore Aqua' scripts, including the one recommended by Charonsoft (the one from the X-mas theme). That last worked nicely for almost everything except the login desktop/image (those I know how to change) and the menu bar clock's text color. MetamorphX itself stubbornly refuses to do anything other than switch to other themes (i.e., no going back to Aqua that way).

I also tried re-setting the system font with TinkerTool. Sure enough, the menubar clock's font and size changed, but the text display remained white. Gah.

I've been all over ResExellence, Mac OSX Hints, About.com (talk about pop-ups...yeesh) and to various pages returned by Google. I've also scoured several articles downloaded from the Web, including The Mac OSX Solutions Guidebook and David Pogues Missing Manual book. Lots of ways to change the date/time format, none to change the color of the text.

Yeah, it serves me right for not backing up everything before using MetamorphX. Auto-flagellation aside, anyone have any ideas on how to set the color of the menubar clock's display text?

I'd say you need to restore

/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Clock.menu

You can either copy it from another machine or use Pacifist to extract it from the OS X Install CD. You'll need to be root to copy this in using the Finder.

I'd still like to know how to change the color, just for $#!+s and giggles, but copying a new one should solve the problem for now.
