Ok I am getting a little frustrated with my .htaccess files.... they are not working! I have changed my httpd.conf file so that AllowOverride is set to All, but yet none of my .htaccess files are being read. I know they work since I upload them to another server and they are read there. If anybody has an idea of how I can fix this little problem I would sure appreciate it. Thanks! :)

I know this might be obvious, but a couple times I've made changes too httpd.conf and then pulled my hair out wondering why they weren't taking...until I realized I had to restart the webserver...

(under System Preferences: Sharing, click web sharing off and then on again.)

Well after a lot of work etc, someone on the Apple forum gave me the answer. Basically unbeknownst to me there is a 'username'.conf file and I had to enable .htaccess files in it also. So there you go! Thanks for your help everyone :)
