A friend of mine who uses pc has an ipod and im wondering if i can connect it to my mac running jaguar?

does it matter that it is a "Windows based" ipod?

is it just connecting to my mac?

and do i need additional apps to transfer files?

You can not add songs to his windows iPod from your mac. To add songs from the Mac you would first have to install the Mac firmware on it which would erase everything on his iPod drive. You can switch from a WinPod to a MacPod, and use it on a Mac from now until forever, but you can not transfer songs from a Mac to a windows formatted iPod while preserving the previous data.
