If I download an image from a web site, the file appears on my HD at least 150k larger than the original image. A friend said this may be due to automatic thumbnail icon creation, and the necessity for many icon sizes to scale properly in OS X. Does anyone know how to stop this - maybe by forcing IE or the system to use generic icons?
