After reading over a few different forums, I've come to figure out that OS X obviously does not have every application that ever user could possibly need (But what operating system does?). So I'm here to ask you, what application do you need that OS X does not have?

If the application is currently being ported to OS X you can still say it here. I'm mainly interested in applications that aren't even in the works yet (Or not that anyone knows about). I have every application that I can need in OS X. More so than I did in OS 9.

So please, let me (Or us, as in the forum) know what exactly you need, that no application is providing right now. I (Or us) might be able to point you to an application that you didn't know existed, or even make one for you!

I still need Umax scanner drivers to be 100% in OS X.

Otherwise, Golive 6.0 was the last significant "missing link" for me.

I'd like to get maple/matlab, though I only have a few more weeks of calculus before I'm done for good :)!

I need a real wokspace manager! Space.app is nice, but it is just an "auto-hider" not a true virtual desktop manager. Virtual Desktop (OS 9) is the number one app that I miss and can't find a substitute for.

I would also love to see a mature mud client for OS X. I have messed with Legendweaver, Cantrip and a few others, but nothing comes close to Rapscallion (http://www.rapscallion.co.uk). Unfortunately, the developer of Raps seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth.

Until Cantrip or LW comes of age, Raps remains the last app that causes me to launch Classic every day.

Thanks.

Not a need, so much as a want: QuickTime Conferencing for OS X, and possibly a NetMeeting compatible client as well.

Apple canned the first, and Netopia gave up on the second.

Drivers for my scanner (Artec) and my USB web cam (Logitech). That's me dreaming - I'm never going to see either of those. Carbonized Palm plugins - like AvantGo and Vindigo. A better version of VirtualPC. 5.0.2 was an improvement, but it still isn't as fast as in OS 9.

Documents To Go, or failing that, a way to convert text into Palm Doc format without having to use terminal commands.

i need an application that will allow me to send HTML emails that embed images/gifs etc into the email like entourage does when you use HTML mode. the difference being I want to write/edit the html, in entourage you can only view it.
apparently you can edit it in OE in windoze, why not on X?
i think entourage writes out the img file as ascii text, i tried to copy and paste this into an html i had written but to no avail.
most things i'd like are probably able to be written as applescripts, i should get my head down and learn it i guess
