Hey all,

I'm having a little problem with OSX. I use a key sequence in Adobe Illustrator to switch between arrow tools (command-Tab). This conflicts with the default key command to switch applicaions in OSX. I got around this in OS9 because there was an apple script that would disable the application switcher built into OS9. I have found no way to disable the application switcher in OSX. If any body knows of any third-party goodies or terminal commands that might take care of my problem, please let me know.

Thanks, David

Replace the Dock to eliminate command-tab shortcut (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020116233144776)

kind of a nasty solution, but the only one to work so far.

Somebody also mentions Keyboard Maestro (http://www.keyboardmaestro.com/download.html), which can REPLACE the command-tab functionality with its own program switcher, but doesn't seem to offer a way to just disable it.

Thanks for your tip. I e-mailed the guy at Keyboard Maestro and he said he would try to include disabling command-tab in his next release. Cross your fingers.

You could always just use A and V to choose the selection or the direct-selection arrow. Unfortunately Illustrator won't let you change the command-tab shortcut...

I personally almost never use the filled arrow tool anyway, so I've never run up against this issue in Illustrator.
