View Full Version : Hard Disk Won't Sleep

My iMac (brand new: 500Mhz/256MB) is running 10.1.2 and has now refused to go to sleep at all.

In Energy Saver, Display goes after 20 mins then System and HD after 40 mins. However for the last couple of weeks only Display has been working. The HD refuses to Sleep.

The only app I can vaguely think that might have something to do with it is the Retrospect beta but I think it's unlikely.

Any clues or similar incidences?:confused::confused:

I believe the Retrospect Beta has a 'background' element that may, indeed, be causing the hard drive to stay awake.

I think it shows up in the login items panel; you could try disabling it and seeing if the problem goes away.

I've checked login items but nothing there except SGI Server Key which has been there since day one.

Still think Retrospect is main suspect, though...

Hmmm...
