View Full Version : Broken Classic Apps

Okay, this is a dumb resource fork question born out of my stupidity back in the day...

I've got a CD that I made back when I'd just started playing with macs (pre OS X days). The CD was stupidly made by copying files onto my PC (which had the burner), and burning it there. However, this stripped all the coolness out of the Mac files, and the apps wouldn't launch when I put them back on the mac. Boooo!

Now, my question is this - is there any way to restore their application status? I've been playing with setfile, and have managed to duplicate the "getinfo" settings of other classic apps. However, OS X only sees the "fixed" apps as OS X apps, not classic apps, and OS 9 sees them as plain documents, just as before.

Is there any way to force an app to launch in classic? Cheers guys,
