GREAT SITE!
After visiting MacOSXHints quite a few times the last few days, I want to express my deep gratitude. I’ve solved a few problems that have stymied me, learned about software that I want to check out, and read a great review on the Dual G5.

But what impresses me the most is the positive and supportive atmosphere here. It’s almost devoid of BS, rantings, insults or uncalled for displays of agression.

May I suggest a few topics, perhaps even 3 new FORUMS, to the Site Administrators:

DIGITAL HUB: A place to discuss how it all comes together. Reflecting how many non-professionals (and many pros) use their Mac.
Also hereunder: iChat/iSight. Apple’s digital hub strategies. Dreams of possible products...

AUDIO: General issues of concern to people recording music, collecting music, downloading from iTunes Music Store, trying to convert between different formats, and tryint to organize their libraries in optimal ways.

IMAGE: The same, but for still photos/illustrations. iPhoto issues, digital cameras, macrophotography (one of my special interests).

Again, THANX!!!

You seem to be having a problem with creating multiple copies of the same thread. I've been deleting the extras.

As far as the additional areas are concerned, I tend to think that part of our success here is maintaining relative focus on the goal of providing advice about Mac OS X; and its use and optimization.

I can't speak for any of the other people here but I've often found that the 'one stop shopping' approach some Internet sites try to take tends to dilute the overall quality of the places.

I'm interested to read what others think about this.

Thx!
When I paged back, it looked like it hadn’t been sent. So I made the mistake of clicking "submit" again.

I tend to agree with Craig, here. Pro audio sites would be better for audio discussion (I'd visit propellerheads.se for Reason help, for example), etc. The forums here tend to stay fairly focused, while allowing a bit of room for discussion of just about any app in the various threads.

And yes, this is the best forum out there. No trolls, no flamers, nothin' dumb. Mucho rockage.

RE: Well I am sure a learned Person trying for many moons could have split it up better... Not.

There is a huge Advantage to Less being more. The interests you have are popular and will be responded to when posted (at least in my experiece).

There is already a hardware forum, for most of your intersts, system for system, Apps for Apps, Unix, Experiences, and News etc.

If it was sub divided any further you would have:

A) Confusion
B) Less Support and Responses which would make the forum less valuable to all.

People coming here do one of 3 things.
1) Search
2) Troll by Catgory (the reason I said we all would get less responses because people would have to look in more places and might not see your post).
3) Search New

P.S. There are many many Digital Photo forums. dcviews.com is a **** site with links to many others of this ilk there about a dozen and these have forums too.

welcome and good luck:)

Craig, Mikey-san, Anthlover,

I am not only outvoted, but convinced by your arguments! Excellent points. I withdraw my case.
