ok.. if i have http://ip address of router/index.html on a linsys router and the ip address of the built-in-Ethernet is 192.168.1.110 which is outside the allowed port range. and my static ip address from my domain-name-co is told to forward the domain name requests to computer-name.website-name & is forwarded to my static ip address.

where in the linksys utility shoul i put the ip address of the router... and would that be the static ip or the forwarding ip designated by the 192.168.1.110

and what do i put into the forwarding ip address... is the 192.168.1.110 correct if i have it set in the built-in-Ethernet? does the linksys also nee to have the 192.168.1.110 in a different section than "Forwaring"?

Sincerely appreciate everyones help that has messaged me back... I have come a long way to understanding this becuase of you guys... Thanx

im pretty bad at explaining what i want but you blow me out of the water;)
what are you asking? didn't the last post explain what you had to do?
what is a linksys utility?

the router has an IP address, you dont assign it one.

no, you only need to set the forwarding ip address, dont go near the static setup, yours should remain a dynamic DHCp, the difference is you assign your IP, not the router.

what exactly are you trying to accomplish, a webserver, an ftp server?
