I've been wanting webboard software on my X box (no not the m$ console) for quite a while, but really had no need. Then I found this sweet (and free) software. Sure, I still have no idea what to do with the boards- sites like this one are already excellent for Mac related info- but hey, I've got them.
If you have some basic unix knowledge, installation is a breeze. You can grab it at www.ikonboard.com

The forums there at Ikonboard are really helpful for getting your own board going as well.
You can check out my gaming clan's moderately hacked ikonboard here:

We interrupt this thread to announce its departure for the Coat Room, a more fitting spot for a general conversation on webboards.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Funny you mention it here, Ikonboard is written and tested on Mac OS X, and the guy who writes it is one of the most devoted Mac fans I've ever seen. Ikonboard is a great piece of software, it's lightning fast when used with MySQL and mod_perl, and it's totally free.

I d/l the 3.0.1 install last night and had no luck getting it up and running. I have a fair amount of unix and SQL knowledge, CGI and SQL are running fine.
Any tips on what you did to get it up and running?
Did you modify any of the files? I noticed a couple of paths within the installer.cgi that said they might need to be changed and I tried that but still know luck.

@Bluehz - The reason it won't install properly is because the text files it contains have '\r' line breaks instead of the UNIX '\n' line breaks, which screws up almost every CGI script I download, including Ikonboard. After that change, it should install without a hitch, at least every version released has for me so far.

When I go to www.ikonboard.com I get a GoDaddy page park.
Is it just me or has the page gone?
