I compiled a 802.11a/b/g wireless adapter list mentioned in the thread regarding the D-link DWL122 USB Adapter ("Wireless options for non-airport G4 "). Thanks in good part to the wlan-linux list and other sources, I'll fully flesh it out over the week.
The list can be found here:
http://home.earthlink.net/~metaphyzx/Wireless.htm
Any additions, or corrections... shoot me an e-mail or IM message me, or post in the thread, please.

Not really a help request, so moving to the 'OS Xperiences' forum...
Very handy to have, and a lot of effort. Thanks! :)

Hi Meta-dude,
I wrote to you months ago about the USB-prism based
DWL-122 from D-Link, and hacking its drivers to work
with Netgears MA111 and the Syntax USB-400. Here is a
sort of update. I also sent this to Mike Breeden at
XLR8YourMac.com.
Feel free to add info to your list.
Regards,
Dave Purdy, WI
------------------------------------
A newer driver (version 1.4.7) for D-Link's DWL-122
has surfaced, with excellent functionality and many
nice surprises.
Over the last year or so, a lot of bad press and
flaming forum posts from Mac users have accumulated
for D-Link's DWL-122. The problems seem to have been
with the driver. I (personally) and many others had
freezes so often with the 1.3.2 and 1.3.1 versions,
but 1.4.7 seems to have those licked.
An interesting thing about D-Link's latest, version
1.4.7,
<http://www.dlink.com.sg/products/support.asp?pid=175#drivers
> , it seems to recognize __many__ different
Prism-based devices, and not just D-Link's. If you
look at the extension 'Intersil Prism2.kext",
specifically at the Info.plist, you will see not just
the DWL-122 listed in the IOKitPersonalities, but also
at least 5 other USB Prism units - the Netgear MA111,
and a MicroSloth USB Wireless device, to name a few.
I am currently using the Netgear MA111 with the 1.4.7
driver. It behaves very well now, with no freezes,
panics, or dropped connections - after 2 days of heavy
use. The driver seems stable (___finally___!!!) and
now suddenly it doesn't need to be altered to work
with USB wireless devices other than the DWL-122. I
find it strange, even ironic, that someone has added
support in their driver for other firms' cards, but
I'm not complaining.
As I got the Netgear for free, it is a nice little
backup/portable wireless unit. I originally bought the
DWL-122 last fall for $30 at BestBuy, but returned it
after so many freezes and problems. I am confident
that it would now work fine with the actual D-Link
unit.
It also drives the Syntax USB-400 unit equally now,
though a hack to edit the product and vendor ID's in
the Info.plist is necessary for this to work.
Though all of these devices are rated at just 11mbps,
they typically can be bought for less than $10 now.
Their small pen-drive size makes them very nice to
take along for quick wireless connectivity on the go.
Hope this helps some poor soul out there that still
has the 1.3.2 driver.

The Belkin F5D7011 802.11b/g PCMCIA card works with Airport drivers (3.1.2) in my Lombard (with a Logitech G4/500 CPU daughter card).
The Belkin card sports a Broadcom chipset.
Keep that web page up to date. It was a tremendous help to me!

Hi, I've just ordered a couple of Syntax USB 400.
I'd like to know which is the software "hack" they need to be recognized on Macs.
I'd use them with the D-Link latest driver you've discussed about.
Thank you :-)

Very nice job! Thanks, metaphyzx!
Using a Belkin 802.11g wireless router (behind my Macsense router) and a Belkin netword adapter card for my Pismo card slot, I was able to obtain wireless capability in my home for about $60.00 after rebates. There really are alternatives to Apple's expensive options, here.

I downloaded the 1.4.7 driver and installed it fine, but it doesn't see the adapter. I checked the plist file and as Metaphyzx says the MA111 is listed. But nothing happens. I am running 10.3.7 on an old (2001) vintage iMac G3. I played with all the nobs on both the router and adpater driver I could find, but no joy. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ok - I found out the answer. I got the latest version fo the MA111 which is Version 2. This version has a chipset from Silicon Inegrated Systems (SiS), it is version Sis 162, which is different than the MA111V1 product which used a PRISM GT chipset from Intersil. The V2 driver currently available does not work with Windows Xp/Service Pack 2 (Xp/SP2) so you can imagine where the OS X version is on the priority list. I give up, I am re-wiring the house!
Thanks to all for your help

This can apparently happen with screenSavers too, but I encountered it after installing the driver for the DWL-122 on a Tangerine iBook with OS X 10.2.8...
When System Preferences was activated, I did not see the D-Link preferencePane as I had when this software was installed on another iBook. The console revealed an error message something like this:
System Preferences[nnn]: preference not found at path /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Wireless Adaptor.prefPane
I only found three references to this type of error message, using Google. One of them, on a Chinese bulliten board, mentioned 'Cache'.
I turned to OnyX (http://www.titanium.free.fr) and since I had done several restarts already, decided to go with a sledgehammer... I had OnyX clean up the System cache, core files, log files, repair file permissions, run maintenance scripts, optimize the system, and purge the virtual memory files, etc...
The problem was fixed. But I don't know which of the above did the trick.
I suspect it was cleaning the System Cache, but that's an uneducated guess.

Another way to go is to get a wireless Ethernet adaptor. No drivers needed whatsoever. Set up is done via web page. They are kind of bulky to carry around with a laptop, but fine for desktop machines.
The DLink DWL-G810 works, although I have had problems with authentication with these.
The Netgear 54 Mbps Wireless Game Adapter WGE111 should work.
The Linksys WET54GS5 should also work.
Belkin has a Wireless Network Access Point Part # F5D7130 that can be configured to work as a bridge.

If you've got a spare PCI slot, the Netgear WG311 (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=305296&pfp=BROWSE) should appear to the Mac as an Airport card (according to XLR8YourMac)

I hope you guys don’t mind me posting this. I found this thread with a search engine and thought my situation was very similar, but a little more complicated and incase anyone else ran into the same problem, they could use this information to solve their situation.
I have 2 notebooks running Windows XP in my home office where my Internet connection is. I also have an Imac G3 in another room that does not have an airport card (still $80-$120) using dialup and taking FOREVER to surf the web. I wanted to get all 3 computers to share the same high speed internet DSL connection and thought wireless would be a good solution. My DSL account with my ISP is Dynamic IP address assigning by the way. A week ago I didn’t know a thing about wireless.
OfficeMax was having a sale selling Belkin 802.11g wireless goods for $9/ea. After rebates (802.11g will also connect backwards to 802.11b). Their Mac expert told me I could buy 2 routers (Belkin Part #F5D7230-4) and have the Imac hardwired into the second router, then have the 2 routers communicate to one another wirelessly. In effect, the second router is an alternative to getting an airport card for the Imac G3. I also bought a wireless network card for 1 of my laptops as the other had it built in. My total investment was $30 for 2 routers and a wireless network card for my notebook.
First, the Imac had to be upgraded from 9.0 to 9.2 to be able to download the router software so the Imac could communicate with the router it was to be connected to. This was 3 downloads, 4 hours each on dialup, yikes! Eventually, I was able to get all computers to the internet, but I could not maintain a connection when the computers hibernated, rebooted, etc. I don’t know if it was because the addition of the second router, routers sharing the same IP address, if I was bridging correctly or not, If one should be an access point or what. I did end up solving the problem. Here was the solution:
SUCCESSSFULL CONFIGURATION:
Set up all computers either DHCP enabled (Dynamic IP addresses / IP addresses automatically get assigned to the computers during each session) or Static IP addresses (set the IP address once and forever). As I suspected that part of the problem was IP addresses (because I had seen connections terminated due to “another computer on the network already has the same IP address”, I elected to go static even though I had a dynamic IP account with my ISP. If configuring for static, IP addresses should be outside the range of the DHCP server assigned IP addresses as suggested by the router manufacturer. If you opt. for static, you will need to turn the DHCP server off (under LAN setting) in the primary router (the one not set up as the access point) Set the following TCP/IP settings for the computer connections:
IP Address: 192.168.2.100 (100 and up to be outside the range if configuring static IP’s)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (router’s IP address)
DNS Server: 192.168.0.1 (ISP’s modem DNS server/ using the router’s IP address should work also).
Reboot both routers. After Rebooting, primary router should have internet connection immediately. Be sure to use same computer hardwired to each router to configure, so you can have the same computer being able to access and manage both routers.
Router 2 (secondary) -
1. Set up as an access point. Take note of the new IP address because after you have selected it to be the access point, you will need to access the router by the new IP address after clicking change. Setting it up as an access point will also change the IP address so both routers have different IP addresses, as well as automatically disable its DHCP server (if configuring static IP addresses).
2. Under MAC Address Control, Set up the primary router to have MAC Address Control by inputting the WAN or (WAN/LAN) Mac address in and selecting “allow”. Then you only need to be hard wired into the primary router to be able to log into the primary and secondary routers to change settings if needed.
3. Change the SSID and channel if necessary. Both routers need to be on the same channel to communicate.
Router 1 (primary) -
1. Make sure that the primary and secondary routers are on the same channel. Rename the router if necessary.
2. If you have static IP addresses for the computers, be sure to turn off DHCP Server under LAN settings.
3. Set up Wireless Bridge between the routers by putting the secondary routers WLAN Mac Address in the AP1 fields. Click “Enable only Specific Access Points to access” then click “apply changes”.
I hope this can help someone save 30 hours of beating their head like it took me to finally get to this point. I believe many of the problems were from having the Imac G3 not being the main point of Internet access. If the Imac or any other stationary computer is the point where your internet connection comes in, this is probably all much simpler.

Hi everyone, I wonder if any of the members can help. I have an old ibook g3 and I was thinking about going wireless. I was thinking of getting a usb wireless adapter like the linksys WUSB 11-uk, which according to some compatibility list is mac os x compatible. Has any of the discussion list users tried this model? what do you make of it?
I thank in advance anyone who will be willing to give me any help.

If you can find the belkin USB devices, I can vouch for them directly. the linksys, I've yet to actually test, although I've had several people get them working.
Did you see that Ralink Technology offers OS X drivers for their chipset? http://www.ralinktech.com/supp-1.htm
Now one has to find out, which products use their chipset. Maybe they are willing to say who they sell to, when you show them your list. Could boost the demand for these products and thous their chipset.

We would like to be able to move my daughter's iMac G4 from our family room (where it is currently connected via ethernet to our DSL modem via a wired Netgear router) to her bedroom. The Netgear router is also a wireless device and currently supports an OS9 Powerbook and two XP laptops wirelessly. My daughter's iMac G4 does not have an Airport card installed...I purchased (for nine bucks) a Linksys 802.11b WUSB11 device...which, according to the compatibility list at...
http://home.earthlink.net/~metaphyzx/Wireless.htm
...should work, after downloading and installing the D-link DWL122 Drivers (which are found here, I think):
http://support.dlink.com/products/XP...DWL-122&OS=mac
...the G4 is running 10.3.X, where X is 3 or 4, I think.
I've downloaded the driver and installed it...I would be grateful for some directions as to what to do next...my efforts have not met with success in that no wireless card is seen by the iMac.
Thanks in advance.

Just a suggestion. Could this thread be made into a sticky at top of the Hardware section ? Just because many people keep on asking about these adapters and it looks to me like it would be simpler to have the list readily available at the top of the section rather thatn have to give them the link each time.

After reading posts here, I decided to try using a Belkin F5D7011 to connect to my 802.11g router. It's an Actiontec router I got for a DSL connection, so we're not talking "official" airport here.
I noted that the box says nothing about any Mac OS being supported but I trusted that the folks here knew what they were talking about.
Of course, my setup is not exactly the same and my results were not exactly the same. I have OS X 10.3.9 on the Lombard powerbook. It didn't have airport software. I could not find Airport 3.4.1 (which somebody said worked for them on a Lombard with this card) but I downloaded Airport 4.2 and installed it.
At first I could not get it to "turn on" airport. Eventually I found that if I launched Safari while not connected to the internet, it popped up a dialog box that had an option to turn on Airport. So I did. However, it does not see my network in the network's drop-down menu. I tried using the "Other" and entering the name and passphrase of the network. It said there was a problem connecting, try again? Never connects. I tried removing the WPA password protection from my network. Still does not work.
Also, the card has two lights: power and network. Only the power light comes on and it ONLY lights up when I'm actually trying to connect, e.g., when I click on menu of networks to choose. That seems odd to me; I would expect the card to be getting power all the time unless disabled by some sleep setting. Also, I can't find any hardware control settings anywhere for the card itself. I would think it would show up in the system control panel. The system profiler utility does see the card though.
Any suggestions on how or if this might work? I read about people connecting to "Airport" but does anybody use these cards for just any old 802.11b/g network? The goal is to get this powerbook so it can be taken on the road and connect to hotel wifi networks. If it's hard to get it to connect to a given network, it won't be good enough.
thanks.

Sorry guys, it's been awhile. New job, more responsibility...if I worked in a Mac environment it would probably be a bit easier to keep up with this.
I'm going to try to go through back e-mails and the list and verify what still works under OSX and what doesn't. It looks like I'll get some time this weekend to do that.
I imagine there are several versions of listed products that may not work now. I'm thinking of turning the whole thing into a wiki, that why there's a bit more direct input from others...
Input?

Hello-
I am trying to find the driver for a D-Link DWL-122 USB network adapter. I am running Mac OS 10.3.9 on a G4 iMac (12 inch Flat Panel).
From what I have read on this forum and the very helpful table compiled by "metaphyzx" the recommended driver is version 1.4.7.
However, when I go to the D-Link web site and look on the page for the DWL-122 (http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL%2D122) the only driver I see for Mac OS X is version 1.32.
Actually, I would like to use this drive for a Linksys WUSB11 USB network adapter, but I have read that the D-Link driver will work.
Can someone please send me the complete URL for the driver (or at least th URL of a web page which lists the downloadable driver file).
Many thanks for your time and interest.

i am no developer, but i am a linux user. With the switch to x86 based hardware I wonder if it is possible to run the ndiswrapper and load like the windows driver on a mac and have it run. I know on linux if there is no linux driver for a wireless device a lot of times you can get away with using the ndiswrapper. I am using the windows driver on my linux laptop b/c there is a huge conflict with my flavor of linux and my wifi card. it technically works (its recognized by the OS) but it will never connect. I used the ndiswrapper and my wifi works. it is somewhat limited and i don't get all the cool features like stealth mode port sniffing and such but the basic wifi connection works fine.
I wonder if something similiar or someone else can possible develope something similiar since linux and Mac OS X are very similiar in some aspects.

Hey "Tom"
After digging around online for a while, I came across your post here about your Belkin f5d7011. I currently have the EXACT same problem you do. I can't believe were the only two people on earth that have this issue. I too have a Lombard, running 10.3.9 and mine has the same symptoms. Have you found an answer to the problem yet? I guess I would rather keep trying options before I break down and pay 150+ for an original airport card thats only .11b. UGH. Anyway, I will keep looking as well, and if I find a cure, I will be sure to post on here for you!

I want to thank the author of the web site:
http://home.earthlink.net/~metaphyzx/Wireless.htm
for creating this list of Mac compatible wifi adapters.
However, I have spent a few hours searching the web for credible information that the Linksys WUSB11 Version 2.6 works with Mac OS X.
I have NOT found any credible information (besides links back to the ~metphyzx web site) which says this adapter can be made to work with Mac OS X.
It is likely this adapter works with a Unix variant (such as Fedora Core 5 which can be installed on PPC Macs), but there are no publicly available drivers which make this USB wireless network adapter work with Mac OS X.
I would be happy to modify this post if someone can convince me that I am incorrect.
I know the ~metaphyzx author said he was busy with a new job in 2004, but hopefully he will find time to correct his web page.
Thanks!
P.S. I have been trouble-shooting this adapter on an 800 MHz G4 iMac Flat Panel running Mac OS 10.3.9.

Good news (i think)!
I just bought a CNet branded Wireless-G CardBus Adapter
Before I did, I searched and didn't found any info about it being compatible with OS X but with ubuntu linux using Ralink's drivers. I still bought it because I may use that on the laptop for certain projects.
Anyways, I found this thread later mentioning OS X Ralink drivers so I downloaded them and tested their RT61 1.0.2.0 driver on my Tiger installation.
And it recognized the PCMCIA card!
Now, where I was testing there was a WPA protected network. I had problems then getting connected (had an airport equipped ibook by my side to test passwords, etc.), so it's not perfect. The problem was it said it got connected to the (kinda far, with a weak signal) network, but never got an IP number, that was using DHCP and trying with a manual address.
But I have already tried it on another two access points: mine (linksys wrtg54 or something like that) and another open network (don't know the hardware) in my neighbordhood.
So I guess this is good. It was a relatively cheap card and is ideal for my Titanium which you may know doesn't get good reception using the standard airport card.
CNet also sells a USB dongle which, IIRC, model ends too with 854, so maybe with ralink's driver for usb dongles it might work. But I couldn't test this since I didn't buy that.
Thanks for all the info and good luck!
I just want to clear out one thing.
The Linksys WUSB11 only works in Mac OS if it is version 2.5 or 3.0. The chipset in these devices are Intersil Prism2 and therefore it works with the DWL-122 driver.
I can confirm that the v2.5-one works, and the 3.0-one should, but I haven't tried it myself. And don't ask me why they switched back to the prism2 chipset in 3.0... :P
So.. all other versions other then 2.5 and 3.0 doesn't work in Mac OS! (all the other versions has Atmel-chipset btw)
Cheers.

BEWARE - D-LINK NEVER RELEASED A 1.4.7 DRIVER!
This is social engineering method to hack into your mac. www.dlink.com.sg is NOT the D-Link site... com.sg is the root site and "dlink" is a subdomain of that site... this same trick is used by thieves to steal your banking information, by imitating your banks website and having you login through their fake site.
I can not confirm that this is actually spyware or worse, but it is definitely a perfect method to get you to bypass most of the key security measures built into your mac.
I am notifying D-LINK and APPLE about this bogus driver.
BE VERY CAREFULL!!!
The list was updated 9-23-04 due to these additions/notes. Thanks guys!

Hey, news from D-link support (after a week of frustrating attempts to connect to the net)
"The Device is able to operate correctly on a MAC OS X 10.4, not a MAC OS X 10.4.7. There are no drivers for the MAC OS X 10.4.7.
Sorry for the Inconvenience."

Please advise. Thank you.

Following links from D-Link's main site (http://www.dlink.com/) leads to http://www.dlink.com.sg/ as outlined here:
1. Click the [change] link (besides United States) near the top right of the page
2. Click on South-East Asia
3. Click on Singapore
4. You arrive at the dlink.com.sg page
So does anyone know for sure if this driver is a bogus driver or a real one?
The only driver available to download for the DWL-122 is version 1.4.7, so I would be inclined to believe that the driver is legitimate.

Any additions, or corrections... shoot me an e-mail or IM message me, or post in the thread, please.

I have had a frustrating year with a Netgear (MA111, I think) USB Stick Wireless adapter that I have recently removed from my G4 iMac. Since I removed it, I have been experiencing weird stuff, like my keyboard input dropping out, a kernel panics, etc.
Someone suggested removing the driver for the adapter, but I have no idea how to do that. I still have the installation disk from the vendor (AftertheMac.com), but the installer does not have an uninstall option. The vendor is ignoring my requests for support, so it seems I'm on my own.
How do I uninstall the driver for this unit? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Linksys WPC11 v.4, which is realtek based, and I plug it into the side of my powerbook g4 and mac detects it, then I use realtek WLAN client utility which can be found at http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/215745/realtek-rtl8180l-wireless-driver-1.12-mac-os-x-10.2.x-free-download.html for 10.2 or http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/232692/realtek-rtl8187l-wireless-driver-1.2.6-mac-os-x-10.3-free-download.html for 10.3 or you can search http://www.opendrivers.com/ for realtek 8180 driver and find it there. Then, find the wireless network to connect to then press connect, works with OS X 10.2 and above.

I just received an adapter I bought from Rokland (http://rokland.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=284) which was advertised as Mac compatible. It is a generic one, but it works with my G4 desktop (OS 10.4). It came with drivers and was fairly easy to setup though the process wasn't exactly according to the PDF manual. It is a b/g adapter only, not an a/b/g, but I don't remember the last time I needed 802.11a connectivity anyway. They have another adapter that is a/b/g with an external antenna that they say is Mac compatible, but it was twice the price. I don't know the chipset for the one I bought unfortunately. I was also looking at buying an Orinoco branded PC card for my Mac laptop somewhere as I have read they are Mac compatible, but I have to do more research on that.

Its true that Dlink and several other manufacturers of wireless usb have not released drivers for OSX, but the manufactures of the hardware inside have.
Ralink and Zydas and Atheros? maybe Prism2 have such drivers. Partly this is because Dlink and Buffalo and others change chipsets (check revision: a2 or b1 or whatever) without changing models. And I also have to think Apple has put pressure on these companies not to release drivers to maintain an "Airport" monopoly.
For example here's a list of usb sticks that use the Zydas driver: But Apple doesn't support any of them and none of these come with mac drivers

Beware!! The latest upgrade of the DWL-G122 wireless adaptor will only support up to OS X.4.8. If you have OS X.4.9 or OS X.4.10 (which I have) it still won't work. It doesn't tell you that on the box and I've just had a heated conversation with D-Link about this. They've agreed to refund my money straight away.
I have since found out that there are better and CHEAPER wireless adaptors out there that will work with all MAC OS versions.

Actually, work and other things kind of drew me away from it for quite some time. However, with moving into the Mac/Intel era of my... infatuation with the Mac, I'll return to work on it. I actually see that there's been a good number of devices to add, and a lot of interest while it was up. The last version of the list is dated from October, 2005.
I'll post a new link once I get the site up, and I'd actually prefer a legit DB of devices, with a bit more specific instruction on how to get it working. It might take a hot minute in between other responsibilities to whip up DB tables in a format I like. Or maybe I'll save myself the effort and see if I can find one via freshmeat that I like. =)
If people are willing to submit experiences with different hardware, and kind of self populate it with the device info and the instructions on what .kext files to edit (if any) on and on to get it working, that would be awesome.
I'll post the link once I get the site up (which is the same as below; take the "This website is coming soon" message literally) which may be as early as this weekend. I probably won't add any new devices until I've got the DB up and running.
Saw your 2004 post "Mac OS Wireless Adapter Compatibility List (802.11x)" but the link ...
http://home.earthlink.net/~metaphyzx/Wireless.htm
... didn't work.
Do you still have it, or have you updated it?
The DWL122 adapter is driving me nuts!

New list: http://curtana.metaphyzx.net/~tehen/pfhors.html
I've used several of those listed in my post in my absence; the ones I know work for sure I'll be adding. If someone can verify the rest, I'll add them as well.
Thanks for keeping this alive!

First, thank you metaphyzx for maintaining that compatibility list. This is why I love the Mac community!
Next, I'm trying to find out if anyone has any experience with the Buffalo wireless USB adapters on a Mac with Leopard. Specifically, I'm looking at 2, one of which I can't seem to find available in the US - but maybe someone knows of a similar, compatible product?
Buffalo WLI-U2-G300N Wireless-N Adapter Nfiniti USB 2.0
Here's a link to it at CircuitCity:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=181265&WT.mc_n=66&WT.mc_t=U&cm_ven=COMPARISON%20SHOPPING&cm_cat=DEALTIME&cm_pla=DATAFEED-%3EPRODUCTS&cm_ite=1%20PRODUCT&cm_keycode=66
The other one would be great for my PowerBook - if I could find one:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/24/buffalos-usb-wifi-adapter-boosts-range-210/
CCrane apparently sells a similar one - though much more expensive - WITH Mac drivers:
http://www.ccrane.com/antennas/wifi-antennas/super-usb-wifi-antenna.aspx
I'm open to suggestions too - as long as there is Leopard compatibility. I just have been happy with Buffalo products in the past and was hoping someone in the community had found a compatible driver. Thanks in advance for any info and assistance!

$67 for a standard wireless G USB adapter... they seem to be preying on Mac users.

The ASUS WL-160N Wireless-N USB Adapter - Mac OS & Vista Support - works great and the Mac drivers are on the site for download. I have one runnning on an old imac G3 running Panther. Only issue I found was that it does not start the connection automatically, you need to plug it in the base once logged in.

IMHO - it's not a very good solution if you have to re-plug it every time you login. Certainly not a fully-functional solution - but still an option considering the limitations out there.
On a G3 (of any type) wireless N speed isn't really going to matter since you are limited by USB bus speed.

Hello to everyone!!!
I am new to this forum and I have a problem with my iBook.
The airport seems to need to be replaced, but right now I'm short on money, so I was thinking of getting a cheap fix.
I have an iBook with OSX 10.4.11 and I would like to know if there is a USB wireless adaptor that I could buy.
Please help me, I'm going crazy without internet!!!
Thanx!!!

The Wireless Compatibility List is up at:
http://www.stateofyo.net/metaphyzx/Wireless.htm
Still working on a PHP drop in solution so you guys can add devices at your leisure... Sorry for the extended absences.
Also not mentioned: Some devices give wireless capabilities over Ethernet. Like my Linksys Game Adapter. It works for my Xbox 360 over Ethernet, and could technically supply wireless internet to any ethernet-equipped device.
Just thought it worth mentioning.
