I have been using both Norton Utilities and TechTool Pro for years. They never agreed about minor things like bundle bits and modification dates. One would "fix" everything to its satisfaction and the other program would find fault and "fix" it. Since these were minor issues, I just lived with it.
In OSX something more serious has occured. When verion 1.04 of Drive 10 arrived, it failed my brand new G4/933's volume structure. Those unfortunate people who allowed it to fix the volume structure to a volume with zero content lost everything. I avoided that fate. Micromat said the issue was they way OSX was installed on the new drives caused Drive 10 to conclude the volume structure was hosed when the problem was severe fragmentation. My older G4's hard drive passed all Drive 10 tests.
When NWS2.0 arrived, I eagerly inserted the CD and put it through its paces. I am fortunate to have not experienced the data loss others reported here. I optimzed all my hard drives. The OSX drives were reported to have severe fragmentation.
Along comes Drive 10 version 1.05. This is the fix to the volume structure problem. Now the hard drive that passed before fails volume structure. ???
I haven't tried it on the new G4 yet. Does anyone else experience conflicts between NSW and Drive 10?
