Sync Software for Project back up?

I have just bought an external hard drive for my ibook g4.

The intention is to use it to store my music files and back up my project/document folders.

Any sugestions as to the best software for syncronising folders on the mac and external drive?

LaCie's SilverKeeper is free and can backup and synchronize to an external hard drive.
