Playing one song at a time

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but here goes. How do I play one song at a time? When I play a song, it always runs into the next song, instead of stopping. I have the original ipod. :confused:

Well, there is a pause between the current song and the next song, so it's not like the second song is interfering with the sound of the first song. I know this because many people are angry that the iPod DOESN'T have gapless playback. If you can't stand the sound of the beginning of the next song, maybe you put the wrong stuff on your iPod. :)

But, there is a workaround: create a playlist containing the song or songs you want to play. The 1Gs didn't have OTG playlists, so I guess this would be somewhat inconvenient, but AFAIK it is the only way to do something like what you want. In some cases, songs will already be the only one in their category (as in, the only song from the particular album that you specified), and then they will play one at a time.
