Printer problem, OfficeJet 6110 through PC network

Hi!
I have a network with a PC connected with USB to a OfficeJet 6110 .

I can't make it to print from my Mac. From other PC's (windowz) it works just fine...
I have downloaded the Drivers from HP (loads of apps and stuff) but I can't find the right printer model in "Printer Setup Utility".

I can "see" the printer under "Windows Printing" so I add the printer and use "Generic postscript Printer". The printer prints something looking like postscript code, or a message from far far away!!! (I have tried some other printer models as well with same result)

Any ideas what to do?

Go to HP's website and download the PD files.

I have download "HP OfficeJet 6100 series software/driver (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?product=79477&os=219&lang=en&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&softwareitem=oj-8525-4) ", 56MB.
It's no other software/driver to download!

That installer will also install the Printer Definition files so that it may be selected in IP Printing.

I still can't find OfficeJet 6110 under "Printer Model", still same options as under "Windows Printing"...
Seems like the printer driver is missing!?!

The HP-provided driver doesn't support Windows-shared printing. You need to install hpijs and ESP ghostscript from here:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/

When you ADD in Printer Setup, for model you will now find HP Officejet 6110, foomatic + hpijs.

Scanning and other functions won't work with this driver.

I am trying to "reconnect" so I can print from my ibook to a networked W2k machine where the printer is. It is an HP officejet 6110.

I have downloaded gimp and esp. I know how to find the advanced windows to samba. i can share files between the machines and another winxp pro can print wirelessly to the printer. And i have in the past.

But now all i continue to get is a message about not locating the samba host.

So now i wonder if i need to re-install Samba?

Have you verified that the Windows machine has Printer Sharing enabled?

I have similar problem with printer sharing. I am using Powerbook G4 and my HP Office 5510 is connected to PC Window XP. I have followed all the instructions to enable print shring. I also installed gimp print and other. When I added the printer on G4, I can see HP5510 on my work group. But when i sent a print job, there is no error message. It seems the print job has been sent but god knows where. anyone can help!?
