View Full Version : iPod customisation?

I took delivery of my iPod 40GB last friday and have since been googling a lot for customisations of it. (software customisations that is.) The only one I have found is the battery meter into volts.

I was wondering if there was a way to 'hack' the software OS? on the 'pod to allow it to show a note instead of the apple when its reset. My reason for doing that is I have a collection of ASCII pictures, and it would be fun to have one of them showing!

My other query is can I change the main menu title? Its currently set at 'iPod' and I have it changing to the time after so many seconds. I was wondering if I could get it to show 'iNemopod' (the name of my iPod) instead?

cheers,

- iNemo

Just a warning, we have a dim view of hacks here.

You cannot change your Title.

Probably a better palce to get good iPod info is iPodLounge (http://www.ipodlounge.com). There's a lot of talented iPodders there.
