i think its because its on the same hard drive as osx but im not sure. This has happend several times, and i have an inkling that its because of OSX being on the same drive...

I had to do a "zeroing out" initialization of my HD to clear a corrupted System 9.2.2 from my HD. I've been running fine since. It takes a while for the Mac to do this but at least you know there is NOTHING on your HD and everything you install is clear and not being corrupted by some vestige of your previous OS.
