Here's the deal.

I have around 22GB of songs, in MP3 format, on my iPod. Lovely.

I want to convert them all to AAC format.

The problem is that I don't have 22GB of space on my hard drive to store all these songs, so I'd have to copy part of them onto a disk, then use iTunes to convert them to ACC. Hmm, bit of a pain really.

So, is there a third party utility to allow conversion from MP3 to ACC that might allow me to do this?

Why do you want to do that? The resulting files will be lower quality than what you have now.

You could always do a bunch of songs at a time... Simply select say, 20 songs in your Library (or do an artist at a time), then go to the Advanced menu and choose "Convert Selection to AAC". (You will need to make sure your import format is set to AAC in the preferences, first.)

Once those songs have been converted, you can delete the originals.
