New to iPod

Hi,

Have just bought myself an iPod and thought perhaps someone could help me out with a qu I have.

If I have downloaded all the tunes I want for the mo onto my iPod, am I able to delete the files from iTunes? I am worried that next time I plug in my iPod everything on it will be deleted if there is nothing in iTunes.

The reason I ask is that I am shortly to buy a new PC and will have to reload the software. I don't want to find that the 4,000-odd songs i have already put on there will automatically be deleted and I want to be able to update more songs on there from time to time.

Set the new PC to manual sync mode until you have your library transferred over to your new computer.
