Hi

I want to update the system software on one of my old macs to OS 9.1 (thats as far as I can upgrade!). I currently have version 9.04 installed, but this keeps crashing, so i need to do a 'clean install' ( I can't do this at the moment as I can't find the original CD!)

Is 9.1 available on CD as a complete OS, or is it only available as an update, as found on Apples site?

hope this all makes sense!

Nina

Nina, if you run Software Update from your Control Panels (under the Apple Menu, top left), you'll probably get a prompt to update 9.0.4 to 9.2.2, or maybe it will start with 9.1 and lead you through incremental steps.

You don't need to do a clean install, but it would be wise to back up what you have before upgrading. That always goes without saying.

I am moving this thread to the Classic forum, even though you've made not mention of using OS 9 with X. It seems to fit there better than here.
