I know that Apple has laser engraved signatures and the like, but I was wondering if it would be possible to laser engrave an image on the back of my iPod mini.

this is the image: http://mattr.kicks-ass.net/matt

I would like to see it for less than 30, I'm not even sure if I will go through with it because I do like to resell my electronics, but its a cool idea.

Let me know if you guys know of anything.

Try taking the image and your iPod to your local jewellers and see if they can do it.

edit oops, you said laser only jewellers will probably only be able to etch it on...

Apple offer a service for companies to have their logos etc laser engraved on the back of iPODs. For use as promotional gifts etc. I dont know what the costs are but that might be a place to start.

Look up "Engraving" in the yellow pages and call around. Just avoi any kind of impact engraving - very bad for delicate mechanical parts like drives. Laser or rotary engravers should not be a problem.

I have a CO2 laser connect to my computer and it is very easy to engrave the iPod..... it actually just removed the anodization.
