iPod problem

I updated to the last iPod software (i have a mini iPod) and then it told me to plug (in the poewr socket) the iPod in order to update the iPod software. Then it gave me a folder icon and no starting up. I tried resseting it, but once again the folder icon appears again... What can i do? Is there any other solution? I don't mind loosing my Mp3's.

Put it in Disk Mode (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651) and restore the iPod (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983). That WILL erase the ipod, but if the HW of the iPod is OK it will resolve it.
