battery in menu bar in classic?

hi,

So OS X seems to disable the menu-bar battery indicator in Classic (the one that you turn on through the Date & Time control panel)! Seems cruel and unusual, especially considering that OS X drains my battery twice as fast as before.

Is the battery-indicator thing a known problem, or just me? I'm running 10.1.4 on an iBook.

And has anyone figured out a way to get a battery-life display on the screen while in a Classic app? (I feel like I've found little indicator-lings on the web for absolutely everything except this.)

I suppose it goes without saying that all you need do is click on any X app in the Dock and you'll have your X menu and battery indicator to view--which should be more than adequate to keep you posted on the level of charge.
