OS9( kaput )

After an improbable series of crashes
destroyed my powerbooks and backup hard drives
I find myself sans System 9 and for the life of me cannot
find in Apple’s horrendous support site how to download and install
the whole shebang all over again.

( Running 10.3.8 and Tiger on 12 and 15 peebees,
need Classic to open and re-save ancient MIDI files, etc. )

...help?

Two ways. The easiest is to just insert your system restore CD and select to reinstall classic, and nothing else. At least that's how I do it with my iBook, which though it's OS 9 bootable, didn't come with an OS 9 install disc.

Second way is to just copy the OS 9 system folder from a machine with a working classic install. This would be the folder with the big "9" on it, not the "X."
