I'd better begin with some background on my setup.

I have a DSL line that runs through a Linksys router/hub into a small, 3 mac, network. One of the three macs is an Beige G3 running OS X Server. What I would like to do is use the G3 server as my router. It has 2 ethernet adapters so on the hardware end I'm set.

Unfortunately I'm quite new to OS X Server and most networking concepts as a whole so I have no idea how to accomplish this task.

Can anybody help directly or direct me to a source of information that won't be overwhelming to a beginner?

Any help would be tremendous.

Thanks,
Chris

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to use the OS X Server machine as a router, when your LinkSys is already doing it? Are you thinking along the lines of a firewall?

Take a look at Sustainable Softworks (http://www.sustworks.com/). They have IPNetShareX (formerly gNAT), which probably does what you want.

There's no reason to go get separate software to run routing on OS X. It has it built in. Find the X Server config app and turn on dhcp.
