i'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to tell Classic to go to sleep when no Classic apps are running.

in the Classic system preference, i have Classic set to go to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity. sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. after i've had no Classic apps running for a while, i'll check 'top', and sometimes i'll find TruBlueEnviroment taking up 0% CPU. other times it'll be taking up 10%-20% CPU.

i'm hoping to find some way to FORCE Classic go to sleep when it is using up cycles for no reason. now i just quit Classic at such times, but then i just have to relaunch it later.

Yet another sleep thing; got to be one of the buggiest things there is.

What you might try: boot into OS 9, and set the Energy Saver Control Panel to some small value (like 5 minutes). Then reboot to OS X, and set Classic to sleep in 5 minutes. Let us know if this makes any difference.
