Can anyone help me with a problem I have often using Toast Titanium 5.3, and often Sherlock.
Taking as an example, running up Sherlock I often have to wait for the spinning beach ball to stop so I can start typing in the search string. There is a long delay and meanwhile I am typing the word in, but when I look up at the screen the ball is spinning and perhaps one letter of the word appears, then the ball spins, then another letter etc. Could take 10 minutes to display the word "Backup" (for instance) which takes about 2 seconds to actually type.
In Toast trying to change the name of the CD you want to write, clicking on the new CD button, and then on the name place, the same delay occurs.
Often in desperation, I have to force quite out of Toast or Sherlock, to save my sanity.
This or a similar thing with Acrobat reader (latest version) Clicking on any of the items in the left hand window, results in a permanent spinning ball. The only way out is to restart the computer.
I am running a G4 500 with the latest software.
