iPod delivery- weird

So I just checked the Apple tracking site. Looks like to get to San Diego, my iPod went from Cinncinati to Alaska to San Diego, where I live. weird. Anyway...

My buddy John ordered an iPod for his mother from the Apple store. They sent her six and billed his credit card for all of them (he's a Web developer, so, no, he didn't hit 'submit' six times at apple.com).

He had to mail five of them back to get a refund, and Apple refused to cover the shipping. Can't remember what ended up eating on the deal, but it was a non-trivial amount relative to the price of an iPod.

I think the Apple store is only a distant cousin to Apple the computer and software creators
