I currently am looking for a sexy case to go along with my sexy iPod. What do you carry your iPod in?

i've tryed many cases of all sorts (skins, leather, socks, the one that came wih my pod) and personally, I prefer to go without a case. I did like my iSkin the best with the apple case not far behind. A case, i've found, takes away one of the main advantages of the iPod, the size. Most cases, in order to do any real protecting add considerable (relativly) bulk. I've had my iPod for over 20 months using a case on and off for maybe 10, and I always get compliments from other podders for my lack of screen scratches so a case isn't entirely neccesary. If you just want to change the look a bit, this (http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/customize.aspx?configid=501 ) site will paint the iPod.
Overall, i liked my skin and they are available in many colors.
Sex appeal is something personal. I go for practical with a Contour Showcase (http://www.contourcase.com/). It's practical, takes knocks, gets dirty, and protects my IPod. It does exactly what I want.
Others in the house use a variety of cases depending on their mood and what colour clothes they are wearing today.

I too have been going months without a case. My screen is not too scratched up but I don't know if I would recieve any compliments on it. I find myself worrying about if my iPod is getting scratched in my backpack or in my pocket rather than enjoying my music. BTW I have got a 60 Gig iPod Photo.

That is indeed a sexy case. Do you know if the Photo case has a belt clip, in the photos provided I only see th 3G with a belt clip. I wish they would offer some colors and not just black and white.

When I was looking for some good cases, I saw the showcase but it seemed too expensive but the 3rd gen is only $20 now so i think I'll give that a try. Maybe in white.
They all have belt clips. The iPod sits on it's side on your belt and you can detach the case from the clip very easily leaving the clip on your belt. It's great for airport xray machines.
The white does get dirty but that doesn't worry me at all.

I'm glad the belt clip is included thats a Major need for my future case. I was thinking about black anyway so the dirt on the white doesn't concern me. Does the clear shell ever get scratched?
My clear hasn't scratched and it gets no TLC at all (that's what it's there for - to protect the iPod).

Excellent. As I mentioned earlier I hate worrying about stuff like scratches. Why couldn't they make the Screen out of this stuff  . I will do some more browsing but this case is looking like its just what I need. Have you tried running with it?
Running? Only between the X Ray machine and the boarding gate. :D
Seriously, I wouldn't use any full size iPod for running, I'd use a Shuffle or Mini, probably a Shuffle with only a few songs on it.

What about this case (http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php/reviews/comments/marware-sportsuit-basic-and-convertible-4g-ipod/) for running, anyone use this?
SWMBO has one of the standard versions (I think) for her 3G. She loves it but doesn't use it for running, just general protection.

Stay away from the iSkin Evo 2 products. I bought mine a little more than a month ago. Not only did it ruin the back of my iPod photo, but it has begun to rip in several places. One their website, the material looks slick. When I got it, it seems like it's made out of a dishwashing glove and it attracts every bit or dirt/dust like a magnet. The belt clip attachment that it comes with broke the first week even though their website www.iskin.com lists it as being very durable. I only use my ipod for jogging and that belt-clip broke the first week.I emailed their customer service about their product ruining my ipod when it was supposed to protect it and have yet to hear anything from them.

Phew! I'm glad I started this topic because I was about to purchase an iSkin. How did it screw up the back of the iPod, adhesive?

It left a circle shaped impression that looks like you heavily sanded a circle on the back of the ipod. It's very ugly to say the least. i couldnt believe that the iskin people sell this product since the whole purpose is to protect the ipod.I'll post pics if youre interested. -Todd

Usually it's She Who Must Be Obeyed.
On thread topic, I have a Matias iPod armor (http://matias.ca/ipodarmor/) case.
I was using the regular Apple-provided case. Most of the time I'm taking my iPod somewhere, it's to work. So the iPod goes into the case, I take it to work, and it sits in the case all day while I use the remote to do the controlling. The iPod armor is perfect for this. The Apple case was fine for that part, but I did drop my iPod onto the asphalt in the parking lot. The Apple case didn't do much to protect the corner, so I wanted something substantial. Ironically, I haven't yet dropped the iPod while in the iPod armor. So I suppose the case isn't necessary if I just don't ever drop it.
Also, the iPod armor makes it so you can't see the screen at all. Which is fine for me -- I choose a playlist, and go forward or back via remote control. If you tend to do more than the remote can handle easily, this might not be the best case for your iPod.

iSkin should offer some kind of compensation for that.
 At least the circle frames the Apple iPod logo nicely. ;)

You're the first person I've seen say that about the iskin. I've seen them dirty up iPods, but never do THAT to one. Did you have the right size skin? (size a/20 for the 20 or 30 iPod, size b/40 for the 40 or 60gb iPod)
We have an iSkin that scratched the back of a 3G iPod. Damage was minor because it was noticed an we stopped using it. The original belt attechment was to blame I think they have fixed it now.
Anybody want a cheap 3G iSkin that has been hardly used?

Yeah, Im pretty pissed because the rest of my ipod is in flawless condition. I bought the iSkin because it was one of the few that offered good screen protection and I think they got that right with this model. Unfortunately, when I removed the iskin to clean it, it noticed the damage it caused to my iPod and have since stopped using it.I also believe that they need to build it out of a more solid material. The damn thing is falling apart on me after a month of light use.-Todd

The belt clip on the iSkin evo did the same to my 3G. I took it off as soon as I noticed, but there are some annoying little blemishes on the back. The skin itself is fine, though.

I just found the slickest looking cases I think I have ever seen. Vaja Leather Products (http://www2.vajacases.com/home_en.html/) They are fully custom and come in hundreds of colors and a few different styles. They carry a heavy price tag ($70-$100) but they look like they are worth it. Does anyone have one of these bad boys, would you reccomend it? I read a good review in the iPod Buyer's Guide from iPod Lounge (http://www.ipodlounge.com). This is way to much money to drop without some thorough research, I hope someone has one of these cases. Thanks!

Xskin blue cover, glows in the dark. mini. So far, no problems other than loss of sensitivity on the wheel (sheepskin case, maybe? :p )
The coolness though is that it glows, all I need now is some glow in the dark earphones and I'm ready for the rave
I didn't like that it protected everything but the plugs and the lcd screen. I took a bit of clear plastic and scotch-taped it over the screen, with the cover on it is invisible and replaceable eventually. The cover, IMO, should have come with little clear sheets for the LCD, but my solution works probably just as well.
So far, it's pretty much eliminated paranoia over keeping it in my pocket with keys coins and such.. speaking of:
does somebody make a skin with a dock plug that goes in flush and protects that from lint?

I'm making a small velvet case for my shuffle :) It's hard but with a shuffle you don't need to have a hole- you can just fasten it with velcro and set it to shuffle. It's hard for a normal iPod though, cause you really need to be able to see the screen.

I am making a velvet 'sleeve' for my iPod shuffle... a lot of people make them at my school but just rushed things of felt, I wanted a sexier look so I', going to get some cranberry crushed velvet and velcro. I reckon it'll look better than silcone and should help it protection if I pad it a bit. :)

nice. I was thinking of having my mom make a Silk sleeve for my iPod but I need, like you said, to be able to see the screen every at least every once in a while.
