I recently had problems with my friends Ipods and getting ti setup on his computer. Here I am bragging about how great they are and man was it the biggest pain in the butt ever.
Anyway here is something you may need to keep an eye on.
MAKE SURE THE IPOD DOES NOT GAIN THE LETTER C DRIVE ON YOUR WINDOWS MACHINE!!!
It shouldn't happen but it did, he had a hard drive die, he copied stuff off and the new hard drive could not be letter C. So when the Ipod was connected it chose C, so you had to go into the properties of it, and change it.
Also when you do a format, do a quick one, not a long one, the long ones almost always fail.
