Just a minor glitch, but Apple promises me that my iPod clock will automatically synchronize with my computer clock when I plug it in. It doesn't. (This is supposed to work for all OS 10.2 or better and I use 10.3.9.)
This isn't a big deal, except that I'm kind of anal about having my clock say the exact time (my computer syncs to Apple Time) and I'm wondering if it's fixable or if anybody else has had this problem.

The CLOCK is supposed to sync? That's news to me.
A quick search of the apple support database only turns up that there is a clock on the iPod, and that it has an alarm function, nothing about syncing.

iPod 1.2: About the Clock
This document describes the Clock feature in iPod Software 1.2, and explains how to set the clock and make other settings.
iPod Software 1.2 introduces a Clock feature. It displays the time and date.
Follow these steps to view the clock:
1. Select Extras from the main menu.
2. Select Clock from the Extras menu.
Important: iPod does not have a backup battery to preserve the date and time if the battery fully discharges. If that happens, you should charge the battery, then reset the time and date.
Clock Synchronization with Mac OS X
If you connect iPod to a computer that has Mac OS X 10.2 (or later) installed, iPod's clock is synchronized to the date and time of the computer. This does not require that you open iTunes. Note: If the computer's date and time are incorrect, iPod's clock will also be incorrect.

Try putting fresh software on the iPod.

I'm sure the article says it somewhere, but be aware this'll erase the iPod.

Same deal here, except I know it was syncing at some point previously. At least two things changed since "previously": upgrade from 10.3 to 10.4, and using the USB interface instead of FireWire. On a punt I tried syncing with FireWire - and it worked! Interestingly the clock updated almost immediately after plugging the ipod in via firewire, apparently just before the 'Do Not Disconnect' screen came up.
So, if you want your clock to sync, use a FireWire cable. Sheesh.
