Connecting ipod shuffle on mac as well as windows pc

Can I connect an iPod Shuffle on my powerbook, copy files onto it and then conncect it on windows PC to download the files?

Yeah, no problem, I do this. Just remember to move the slider that allocates an area of the shuffle for data files. The important thing to remember is that if the iPod is linked to the Mac, and you have iTunes running on the PC, when you plug the iPod shuffle into the PC, click NO when it asks you if you want to link it to the PC instead. Otherwise it will wipe the music off and replace it with the PCs. This music alert has nothing to do with transferring data files. The shuffle will show up as an E: drive that you can navigate, add files to or remove files from.

Great. Thanks for confirming. Does this apply for iPod Mini too?

I am using my Mini on both platforms, but you need to format the Mini via Windows and you can only update the iPod software via Windows as well.
