Ipod comes up with folder and !

My Ipod has come up with a folder and an !. Does anyone know now to fix it?

I had the same thing happen to me. Basically it means that your iPod can't find the OS. You can try to restore (or reformat) your iPod with the iPod Updater application. If that doesn't work then you might have to get it checked out by an Apple dealer or Apple itself. If you have an Apple Care Plan then you should be good.

Also, the battery could be completely dead (unable to charge), in which case you will absolutely not be able to revive the pod without replacing the battery. Even the Apple techs thought my pod was beyond repair, but it wasn't.
