A new album is coming, that I'd definitely want to put onto the iPod. It's format is going to be Dual Disc - has anyone had trouble encoding these?
I may end up going with the normal CD release of the album, if it means that's the only way I could get it onto the iPod..

It's one Album, there's a tag to flag the tracks to belong to disk 1 or 2, I don't see the problem or am I missing something ?

The discs are double sided, one side CD the other DVD - and so they are thicker. I've heard there may be probs? Just wondering on other's experience with it..

As long as it respects the standard maximum thickness it should be ok, checking with the editor of the CD or with Apple might be advisable.
If you have the choice, I'd prefer to us a tray-loader over a slot-in drive for such experimental media.

Thanks.
Anyone have hands on experience with these DD discs?

I haven't gotten any DualDiscs yet, but the CD side should behave like any other CD. I agree with voldenuit - I would NOT put one in my slot-loading 'book drive.
One thought - since these discs shouldn't carry the official Audio CD logo anyway, the record companies might be more inclined to apply copy-protection technologies to them.
Oh, and since iTunes supports video now, you might also want to use something like Handbrake to make Quicktime movies of any videos on the DVD side. I've already been doing this with some DVD Audio discs I have.

I have inserted , ripped and ejected several dual discs and I have not had a problem with copy-right encryption, nor discs getting stuck in my drives.
