I have a dual 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4
I'm trying to open Photoshop CS and I get this error message:

The application "Photoshop" could not be launched because of a shared library error: ".<application><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonCore><>"

This has also happened when trying to install the newest Macromedia Flash Player.

The application "Install Flash Player 7 OSX" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "7<BaseInstaller Carbon><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonCore><>"

When I turned on my g4 today after startup I got this message:

The application "(null)" could not be launched because of a shared library error: ".<ATI Monitor><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonCore><>"

What do I do?

thnx,
-B

You should try the standard troubleshooting suggestions:
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2004011205473937
http://forums.osxfaq.com/viewtopic.php?t=7269
http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/faqs.html

In particular, be sure to try logging in as a different user to see if the problem exists there. (Create a new user via the Accounts preference panel if you only have the one user account so far.)

Also be sure to do both permission repair and filesystem repair.
